Chor Amica: Mass for Troubled TImes

Franz Josef Haydn's classic "Mass for Troubled Times," nicknamed the Lord Nelson Mass, was written during a time of war and political turmoil. Chor Amica performs this now-beloved work, with strings, trumpets, and timpani, alongside a new work by Iranian-Canadian composer Saman Shahi, based on real-life interviews with refugees about their experiences of displacement. A powerful and moving program reflecting on the capacity of the human spirit to endure.
